The 2024 NFL trade deadline is approaching, with all 32 teams having to complete any in-season trades by 4pm EST on Tuesday, November 5, just one day after the end of Week 9. Almost every club could benefit from some type of swap, but which particularly big names could headline moves?
Here are four notable veterans who could be on the trade block, if they aren’t already:
Two years after a lucrative contract extension with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Robinson remains an important cog on the AFC South club’s front. But the Jags are in position to be sellers at 2-6, with injuries threatening their already depleted lineup. He could be useful for teams in desperate need of help, such as the Minnesota Vikings, who lost Christian Darrisaw to a serious injury.
Will the Buffalo Bills really sell their best rusher? Well, they already forced him to take a pay cut before 2024, and have been mostly playing without him anyway, thanks to a recently issued suspension. Greg Russo came too. It is unlikely that another club will eat up the entirety of Miller’s remaining contract, but he may be willing to renegotiate a move to another competitor.
Even with an extensive injury history, Horn registers as one of the few building blocks for the Carolina Panthers. Why can it be transferred? He’s also one of their most valuable assets, and unless Bryce Young is given — and seizes — a true second chance, they may prefer to pour money into a new offensive infrastructure. At just 24 years old, the former first-round cornerback could fetch a premium sum via trade.
Jonathan Gannon arguably needs all the help he can get to keep the Arizona Cardinals defense serviceable, and Baker has been a longtime fan favorite due to his versatility. He is set to hit free agency after the season, after failing to secure a long-term commitment from the club, and could be very valuable to a contender that wants a proven Pro Bowl talent in the back end.
