Passengers at TPA after Milton
Tampa International Airport officially reopened to the public at 8 a.m. Friday after suspending flights for three days due to Hurricane Milton. High winds and heavy rain from the Category 3 storm affected several areas of the airport campus that will need repairs. Airport partners are also evaluating staffing levels following one of the largest evacuation events in Tampa Bay’s recent history.
The airport is currently operating at full capacity while cleaning and repairs continue. Passengers should continue to check with their airline for the latest flight information. To educate passengers:

Some of the challenges the airport is still addressing include:
Crews are clearing debris and repairing minor damage throughout the campus. Six interior bridges transporting passengers from airside to aircraft were damaged by high winds. General aviation fixed base operator, Signature, suffered some major structural damage, though no reported For any damage to the aircraft.
