Former actor John Wayne Sasse has been arrested for allegedly shooting his friend to death in Pasig City.
According to a Balitanghali report by Emil Sumangil on Tuesday, Sais allegedly shot the victim, Lenil Eugenio, in Barangay Sagad at around 7:30 pm on Monday.
Based on preliminary investigations conducted by Pasig City Police, the suspect and the victim were having a conversation in the aforementioned area, which led to a heated quarrel.
Sayes reportedly pulled out a .45 caliber handgun and shot the victim at close range. Eugenio sustained four gunshot wounds.
The suspect fled to an unknown destination with the weapon used.
A few hours later, the Pasig Police Follow-up Unit received information that led to the arrest of Sais at a hotel not far from the city center.
Authorities recovered Sace’s gun allegedly used in the fatal shooting, as well as five empty bullet casings.
Pasig police confirmed that they are in custody.
At around noon on Tuesday, Sais was transferred from the detention cell of the Pasig Police Headquarters to the Oriental Police District (SOCO) where he will undergo a paraffin test.
GMA Integrated News asked Sace for comment, but Pasig Police said the suspect revealed in his statements that he had a previous dispute with the victim. —Jameel Santos/RF, GMA Integrated News
