Jennifer Lopez seems to be pretty tired of all the talk about her ex-husband, and I don’t mean Ben Affleck.
J.Lo walked out of a signing event at AFI Fest 2024 when an attendee asked her if she had “any comments about Diddy and the allegations,” according to the US Mirror. The newspaper reported that the singer left immediately, despite fans’ pleas for her to stay.
Lopez and Sean “Diddy” Combs dated between 1999 and 2001. She previously described their relationship as “troubled,” and in 2003, she told Vibe that they broke up because of his infidelity.
“I never caught him but I just knew. “He would say he would go to the club for a few hours and then never come back that night,” she said. “I was completely crying, mad, going crazy. It took my whole life to be a mess.” .
What she has not done is publicly acknowledge the allegations against Diddy, who is currently jailed awaiting trial on sweeping sexual assault charges.
Prosecutors believe the Mongols threatened and forced women in his orbit to participate in days-long orgies, often using the footage he captured for blackmail. They also believe he subjected many of these women to physical, emotional and verbal abuse. Since his arrest, new allegations — of rape, sexual assault, drugging and more — have continued to pile up.
The case against Diddy began in the spring, after CNN published a leaked security tape showing the rapper brutally beating his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. Since then, many of Diddy’s exes have spoken out against him, but not Lopez. Although tabloid sources claimed Cassie’s snapshots “disgusted” her, J.Lo has been mum on the matter and has stayed that way.
Which probably shouldn’t be a surprise: Even back in May, sources were saying that “Jen won’t address the accusations or take time to talk about them because it’s not her story to tell.” If an interviewer brings it up, she “will cross that path when it happens, but she won’t talk about it publicly or intentionally put herself in that conversation.”
