In an Instagram post, iHeartRadio Broadway shared that they will be celebrating 30 years of Disney on Broadway with interviews and special performances from Susan Egan and Alan Menken. The duo led Disney in the Broadway premiere of the Great White Way with Beauty and the Beast. Menken is responsible for crafting the magical tunes for many Disney animated classics, including The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Tangled, Enchanted, Newsies, Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Pochahontas. As Disney expanded on Broadway over the past three decades, Menken brought his songwriting talent to expand the signature scores of many Disney theatrical productions. Susan Egan is the original Disney Princess on Broadway, having played Belle in Disney’s first Broadway production. She would go on to voice Meg in the Disney film Hercules. The two Disney legends will sit down with hosts Elvis Duran, Danielle Monaro and Medha Gandy as they explore the history of Disney on Broadway through stories, interviews and performances from the duo.
Follow the celebration on November 4 at 7 pm, November 6 at 4 pm, and November 9 at 12 noon. Experience the 30-year tribute for free on the iHeartRadio app.
