We’re coming to the end of Dancing with the Stars season 33, and the show has given us many memorable moments. From romance rumors between Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko to Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert’s emotional dance during dedication night, this season has kept DWTS fans well-fed. Speaking of fan favorites, Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin star Chandler Kinney was killing every routine.
On Halloween Nightmares, contestants faced their fears as they danced to numbers inspired by their nightmares. You may be wondering why Chandler is afraid? Those will be scary dolls (same, girl, same). She and her professional dance partner, Brandon Armstrong, performed a Vienna waltz to the OG Pretty Little Liars song, “Secret,” by Danish singer + Winter.
The judges were impressed with their knockout performance with Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli giving the pair the highest score of 10. This is the first time Chandler and Brandon have received a score of 10 all season – however, the duo received some criticism from Carrie Ann Inaba, who gave them a score of 9 “It wasn’t perfect,” she told Chandler. Carrie Ann explained that Chandler had some of the most difficult choreography of the evening along with tango dancer Ilona Maher, which she gave a score of 8. The judge ended up giving the other less difficult performances a perfect score.
Chandler addressed Carrie Ann’s criticism during a post-show interview with Entertainment Weekly, saying, “The judges pushed me really hard because they have high expectations. I understand and accept criticism. But tonight, it might have been that way.” After I showed a little bit, I was feeling a little frustrated because I wanted to know what I should do, otherwise, when I start training, I will be a little lost.

The PLL graduate doesn’t let the comments get her down. She added, “We’ll find it. We’ll keep working hard. I’m just using it as fuel and motivation to achieve this perfect outcome because I want it.”
Although she had a tough spot with Carrie Ann, Chandler was the only contestant to receive a perfect score from Derek. “That was amazing,” she gushed. “Derek is a technical judge, and it’s rare to see those dozen from him. It meant the world and gave me the wind under my wings.”
