Twisters — Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos — premieres on Peacock this week.
Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the standalone sequel to the 1996 film Twister debuted in theaters on July 19 before switching to digital streaming via premium video on demand on August 13.

The film’s tagline reads: “As storm season intensifies, the paths of former storm chaser Kate Carter (Edgar Jones) and daredevil social media star Tyler Owens (Powell) collide when terrifying phenomena never before seen are unleashed. The pair and their rival teams find themselves… Directly in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.
Ramos plays Javi, Kate’s former storm-chasing colleague, who convinces his old friend to leave New York City and return to Oklahoma five years after suffering a devastating tragedy.

According to Peacock, Twisters will debut on the streaming service on Friday, November 15. You must be a Peacock subscriber to watch Twisters on the streaming platform.
Peacock has ad-based subscription packages for $7.99 per month and $79.00 per year, as well as ad-free subscription packages for $13.99 per month and $139.99 per year.
How did audiences and critics react to “Hurricane”?
The Numbers reported that Twisters earned $267.7 million domestically and about $102 million internationally for a worldwide box office total of $396.7 million during its theatrical run.
The box office tracker indicated that Twisters had a production budget of $155 million before print and advertising.

Rotten Tomatoes critics had mostly positive things to say about Twisters and collectively gave the film a “fresh” rating of 75% based on 388 reviews. The RT Critics Consensus reads: “Calling a storm of spectacle and carried by the gale-force winds of Glen Powell’s charisma, Twisters’ outlook is terrific with ample potential for excitement.”
Twisters also received an RT audience score of 91% “Fresh” based on over 10,000 verified user reviews. RT’s audience synopsis reads: “Filled with lovable characters and great visual effects, Twisters is like a ’90s blockbuster classic in all the right ways.”

For viewers who don’t subscribe to Peacock, there are two other ways to watch Twisters. The film is still available on video on demand on several digital platforms including Prime Video, AppleTV, and VUDU for $19.99 to purchase or $5.99 to rent for 48 hours.
Additionally, Twisters is also available for purchase on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD.
