Acts for the first day of the city’s 2025 Great Outdoors Comedy Festival have been announced
The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival has announced its first round of Funny People who will tour Canada in 2025, including a stop in Vancouver.
Bert “The Machine” Kreischer leads the first of three days; He will take the stage on Friday, September 12, 2025. Once named the “Best No. 1 Party School Party” in the United States by Rolling Stone magazine, his life in Florida served as one of the inspirations for National Lampoon’s Van Wilder.
This sparked a comedy career, and he became a regular in the stand-up scene, performing shirtless most of the time. He is also a prominent podcaster and has made a film inspired by his interactions with Russian gangsters.
Joining Krischer on stage (or more accurately, before him) will be Whitney Cummings, who rose through the roast comedy scene and created the sitcom 2 Broke Girls (which ran six seasons) and starred in Whitney.
Opening for both will be Derek Stroup, the Alabama comedian who just filmed his first comedy special.
The Great Outdoors Comedy Festival will take place September 12-14, 2025 at Stanley Park. The rest of the acts will be announced at a later time. The festival will also have dates in Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg and Halifax.
Day 1 tickets start at $69 and go up to $259 for VIP table access. Pre-sale tickets go on sale November 14 at 10 a.m., and three-day tickets start at $159.
