You’ve probably seen it by now, the new Netflix documentary with Will Ferrell and Harper Still, part of which was filmed in Texas.
Will Ferrell now says he regrets part of that stop in Amarillo. On their visit to the Big Texan Steak Ranch, Steele toasts the audience, commenting on transgender rights in Texas.
Suffice it to say, it went over like a lead balloon. This elite appears not in the documentary itself, but in its aftermath. Steele, who recently announced that she is transgender, details how the experience quickly became uncomfortable.
Ferrell says he feels responsible for not examining the potential of the situation. All of this comes as Texas lawmakers prohibit transgender people from changing the gender marker on their driver’s licenses.
