Staff asked the individual to leave.

Officers reported that when they arrived, the man was still on company property.

The man reportedly had a knife and began running toward police.

One of the responding officers shot the suspect.

The man continued to charge at the officers, prompting the second officer to shoot the unidentified man again, LVMPD said.

FOX5 spoke to witnesses in the area who said they heard several gunshots.

“It was loud ‘pop pop’.” I’m like oh, that’s a gun. “If it was a gun, it had to be the police,” said Prince Alado, who lives near the scene.

The second officer fell to the ground while the suspect continued running toward the police. Several bullets were fired at the person, who then tried to flee the scene before falling to the ground.

The suspect was taken to UMC Hospital and later died, police reported.

No officers were injured.

Allado said he was surprised this happened in his neighborhood.

“This is a beautiful place,” Allado added. “Everyone’s quiet here, but I hope I never have to see him again. I feel bad.”
