Four indoor singles matches ended Monday at the ATP Masters 1000 tournament

Rain has forced the suspension of outdoor court play at the Rolex Shanghai Masters. By ATP Staff
Play was affected by rain for the third straight day on Monday at the Rolex Shanghai Masters.
The schedule for Day 6 of the ATP Masters 1000 event has been reduced to nine singles matches, with play canceled for the day on outdoor courts. The action continued uninterrupted inside the Qizhong Forest Sports City Arena, which is equipped with a retractable roof.
All canceled matches from Monday, which include Stefanos Tsitsipas’ meeting with Alexander Muller and all doubles matches, have been rescheduled for Tuesday.

Taylor Fritz began Monday’s action under the roof by completing a 7-6(4), 7-6(5) second-round victory, which began on Saturday before a two-day rain delay, over Terrence Attman. The No. 7 in the PIF ATP Rankings was followed onto the court by fellow top-10 star Grigor Dimitrov, who beat Zizo Burgess 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.
Frances Tiafoe then beat home wild card Yi Zhou 6-2, 6-4 to conclude the afternoon session on the Stadium Court. In the night session, Holger Röhn defeated 12th seed Matteo Berrettini in three sets. Flavio Copoli and Stan Wawrinka are now on court in their first encounter at the Lexus ATP Head2Head Championship.
After two days of stormy weather, tournament organizers moved four matches to indoor courts to help ease pressure on the schedule. Roman Saviolin resumed his confrontation in the second round with Alexander Bublik, with a score of 2-1 in the first set, and defeated the 23rd seed 6-4, 6-2. Marcos Giron, David Goffin and Talon Grixpoor also won indoors: Giron beat Karen Khachanov 6-4, 6-3, Goffin beat Lorenzo Musetti 1-6, 7-6 (6), 6-2, and Grixpoor beat No. 26. Jordan Thompson 6 -3 and 6-2.
