The Golden State Warriors have yet to bolster their starting lineup, but it appears the team is getting closer and closer to doing so.
According to a new report from Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the team may have found Klay Thompson’s replacement as their starting point guard next to Steph Curry.
“Milton looks to be the front-runner for the starting point guard spot,” Slater said.

Pairing Milton and Curry together seems to be a duo that Warriors head coach Steve Kerr likes. During the offseason, it looked like Brandin Podzemski would be next in line to start with Klay Thompson, but that doesn’t seem a certainty anymore.
“They look great together,” Kerr said. “I know Steph didn’t shoot well, but they look out for each other. De’Anthony is a really good shooter, but he’s also a playmaker and gets into everything defensively. I’m a big fan of De’Anthony and I really like the depth of our offense.”

Although the Golden State Warriors may have found their two guards of choice, that doesn’t mean Milton will start at that spot all season. If last season showed anything, it was that the Golden State Warriors and Steve Kerr were willing to change their starting lineup if necessary. If not, Klay Thompson will likely still be a warrior.
