After Belal Muhammad pulled out of the originally scheduled main event, two fighters are stepping up to headline at UFC 310.
UFC president Dana White announced on social media that flyweight champion Alexander Pantoja will debut alongside Kai Asakura in the main event on December 7 in Las Vegas. The match will be held at a price of 125 pounds.
The five-round co-main event will feature two top contenders in welterweight Shavkat Rakhmonov and Ian Gary. Rakmonov was originally scheduled to face Mohammed before the latter withdrew.
Pantoja, 34, last competed at UFC 301, where he earned a decisive win against Steve Ercij. Pantoja is on a six-fight winning streak in the UFC, including three title fight victories. He holds a record of 28-5 since turning pro in mixed martial arts.
Asakura made his UFC debut at flyweight, but made his professional debut in 2017 with the Rizin Fighting Federation in Japan. He is currently their bantamweight champion and holds a professional record of 21-4. He will move up a weight class to face Pantoja.
UFC 310 will take place on December 7 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The event will be available for purchase on Sportsnet+.
