Artur Beterbiev heads to Blackburn as part of a UK tour

Beterbiev is the first boxer to become the undisputed light heavyweight champion since Roy Jones Jr. last held the title in 2002.

“The Greater Fight” tour will take place on Sunday, December 1 at the Grand Venue on Hamilton Street.

It is one of only three events held in the UK, with the other two being in Birmingham and Luton.

Beterbiev, 39, has partnered with City 313 in this charitable event dedicated to supporting important humanitarian projects.

This event is advertised as a “men’s only” event.

Beterbiev will be at Blackburn on December 1. Organizers said: “This exclusive event is not only an opportunity to connect personally with a legendary athlete but also to make a lasting impact on the lives of those in need around the world.

“Artur Beterbiev is known for his incredible achievements and dedication to his sport, and he will be joined by many special guests.

“Together they aim to raise awareness and funds for causes that make a real difference.

“Artur Beterbiev is the undisputed light heavyweight champion of the world.

“He is the third Muslim to achieve this after Muhammad Ali and Bernard Hopkins.”

Special guests are Qari Mikael Malla; Boxing promoter and former fighter Spencer Fearon, Maurice Andrews law firm director and politician Ahmed Yaqoob.

Beterbiev was born in the Dagestan region of Russia and currently lives in his new country, Canada.

He won all 21 of his bouts during his professional career and is also believed to have won 295 of his 300 amateur bouts, including gold medals at the World and European Championships.

In October, Beterbiev defeated Dmitry Bivol to become the undisputed champion, adding the WBA belt to his IBF, WBC and WBO belts.
