A potential Blue Bloods spinoff remains a hope among fans of the canceled CBS show, and Abigail Hawke has revealed that there have already been discussions about the possibility – but it likely won’t involve the Reagan family.
“There was talk of a spinoff happening,” Abigail told HELLO. She also spoke before the final episodes aired. “But if that happens, right after our series ends, it shouldn’t be about the Reagan family or the NYPD at all. It should be set in Los Angeles or we’ll follow a different family.”

When discussing the possibility of the show continuing for a 15th season, she added: “If you had asked me that question over the summer, before these episodes were about to air, my answer would have been, ‘There’s a tingle of hope.’
“Now I think once these episodes start airing, CBS executives may realize they made a huge mistake and maybe rethink the future, so I think it remains a possibility.”

“I don’t think there’s a possibility of it moving to another network — I know there’s been a little bit of chatter about it, but I don’t think that’s a viable option given the conversations we’ve had with the crew. And the producers and things like that,” she continued.
“But hope floats, and I think it’s necessary that we have something to hold on to, and certainly we’re all going to drop everything and make it happen. Ultimately, CBS can do whatever it wants, but I hope they realize not only how feasible it is Blue Bloods is commercial, but how loved it is, and the staying power it has, because family is universal and there are more stories to tell.”

Playing Detective Abigail Baker throughout the fourteen seasons, Abigail also discussed potential opportunities to spin off characters that fans have already fallen in love with, sharing: “I think there are certain characters that could go on to have an amazing, wonderful, interesting life outside of the world with a family.” Reagan, and I think Abigail Baker is one of them.
“She’s this mysterious woman and there’s so much we can discover and bring out of her. She has this burning energy that I love about her.
“It’s engaging and you can’t help but become invested in what’s happening, whether it’s at her desk, or sitting there not saying anything because her nonverbal communication is nonverbal. [chef’s kiss] I leaned into it when I realized this was a great way to spend time in front of the camera!
“But she also doesn’t need to say anything unless it’s necessary, and when she does say something, it has meaning so I think there’s a lot of potential for it. I think it’s fun.”
