Powerless incumbent Democratic Sen. Bob Casey turned heads on Friday with a new election ad in Pennsylvania highlighting how Biden “disagreed” and “sided” with former President Trump.
In a television ad that aired Friday morning, a couple with different political views praised Casey as an “independent,” highlighting his support for Trump’s trade policies and his efforts to “protect fracking” from the Biden administration. The ad, called “Bliss,” features a Republican woman named Marygrace and her Democratic husband, Joe.
“Our marriage – pure happiness! But when it comes to politics, we don’t agree. Except for Bob Casey. He’s independent,” Marygrace says, while her husband comments: “That’s right!”

“Casey is leading the effort to stop corporate greed and price gouging,” continues Marygrace. “Casey has bucked Biden to protect fracking and sided with Trump to end NAFTA and impose tariffs on China to keep it from cheating. So, in this chamber, we agree that Bob Casey is the one doing the right thing about Pennsylvania.”
Casey himself appears at the end of the 30-second video and says, “I’m Bob Casey and I definitely agree with this message.”

Fox News’ Power Ratings rated Pennsylvania’s Senate election as “leaning Democratic.” Casey, the son of a popular former governor, is running for a fourth six-year term. His Republican challenger is Dave McCormick, a businessman and veteran.
Public opinion polls showed Casey with a steady, but narrow, lead over McCormick. However, Republicans were quick to point out that Casey, by highlighting his work with Trump, was expressing unease as Election Day approached.
Elizabeth Gregory, McCormick’s spokeswoman, said the announcement was “another sign of the desperation of struggling politician Bob Casey.”
Republican critics also drew attention to how the ad strangely neglected to mention Casey’s support for Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris. The senator did not appear with Harris at her recent rallies in Erie and Washington Crossing.
Republican state Rep. Ross Diamond said Casey “is now running ads flattering Trump.”
“He knows Kamala is going to lose,” Diamond posted on Facebook.

The Trump campaign’s QR account on X accused Casey of “desperately trying to embrace President Trump” after voting to impeach the former president twice.
Wisconsin Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin, who is locked in a tough race with Republican challenger Eric Hovde, is also running an ad citing Trump in a positive light. The former president is immediately shown signing the legal legislation that Baldwin sponsored while Trump was in office. Baldwin previously ran the same ad in March of this year.
“These are liberal Democrats who opposed Donald Trump every step of the way for years, and voted with Chuck Schumer all along, but in the face of their own defeats, suddenly publicly embraced Trump in their own TV ads,” a senior Trump campaign official said. Advisor Tim Murtaugh told Fox News Digital. “This not only means that Trump is winning the battle of ideas, it also means that they know he is winning in their states.”

“This is undeniable, irrefutable proof that Trump is winning in these key battlegrounds, and those bumps you hear are Kamala Harris being thrown under the bus by incumbent Democrats, who used to be her colleagues in the Senate. Harris’ camp should be on his side.” . “With the anger of being rejected and abandoned in that way, but that’s what happens when you stumble upon the worst candidate in modern political history.”
Casey campaign spokeswoman Kate Smart said the senator “does what’s right for Pennsylvania, regardless of party.”
“Whether it’s standing up to China or fighting corporate greed, he stands with the people of Pennsylvania and doesn’t care what any politician has to say about it,” he added.
