The 2024 Breeders’ World Cup kicked off with five “Friday of Future Stars” races. For the second year in a row, a 16/1 long shot won the BC Juvenile as fans got a look at some of the early contenders for next year’s Kentucky Derby. That includes the Bob Baftert-trained Citizen Bull (16/1) and Gaming (6/1), who finished first and second in the FanDuel Breeders’ Cup Juveniles. Last year’s BC Juvenile winner Fierceness leads a 14-strong field in the $7 million Breeders’ Cup Classic – the flagship race of 9 Breeders’ Cup events on Saturday at gorgeous and picturesque Del Mar.

How to watch and bet on Breeders’ Cup races

I was in attendance at the Breeders’ Cup on Friday and back on Saturday for the biggest races attracting the most viewing and betting in the 41st Breeders’ Cup. FanDuel is the official betting partner and sponsor of the Breeders’ Cup and provides odds and picks with the main contenders for consideration on all Breeders’ Cup races. Plus promotions to help you when making money on your favorite horses and runners. FanDuel’s “How to Bet on Horse Racing” guide provides additional tools and tips to better assist you when betting on races.

Plenty of racing angles, insights and past performances for you to review and consider as you watch and bet on the races with coverage on NBC, Peacock, USA Network and FanDuelTV.

But I turned to the team of seasoned horse racing experts at Horse Racing Nation and the Super Screener betting guide for more picks and insight with in-depth analysis of Saturday’s biggest Breeders’ Cup races at Del Mar.

I caught up with the horse racing team of Mark Midland, Mike Schuette, and Ed DeRosa on Friday at Del Mar, and they were racking up more winners including Pick 5 and Top Super Screener’s Pick in the FanDuel BC Juvenile Citizen Bull at odds of 16/1 (15.9) for Great score! Below is the analysis of the winning horse and the type of vision provided in the HRN Super Screener for Breeders’ Cup races and throughout the year at the biggest races and weekends of horse racing.

The Bob Baffert-trained colt Citizen Bull was ridden by Into Mischief and had a perfect Super Screener result punctuated by a dominant victory in the G1 American Pharoah in which he set a slow pace and then hit another gear resulting in an excellent BRIS Late Pace figure of 107. Going forward from Sprinting onto the track is a key screening factor and his movement has resulted in the best BRIS speed rating figure in the industry. He is the best player on the board and offers the highest value and one to bet on as he charges through the final two furlongs to take the win.

I’ve added more below for all nine of Saturday’s Breeders’ Cup races at Del Mar with top picks, contenders, value and long plays to also use in multi-race betting and exacta, trifecta and superfecta options. Additional insight and analysis are provided in the Horse Racing Super Screener Betting Guide and a guide you can invest in to learn while winning at the races.
