“I was a very happy guinea pig,” Wallace quipped.

During his announcement of his departure, Wallace said he aims to pivot from cable news to explore opportunities in podcasting and streaming.

He joined CNN in 2021 to work on CNN+, a platform that was shut down shortly after its launch. He then hosted two shows on the main network.
