In an interview with Undisputed, Cody Rhodes spoke about his critically acclaimed segment with Roman Reigns on SmackDown on September 20 and gave credit to its producers. Paul Heyman, Jeremy Borash, and Rob V were responsible for this segment. Here are the highlights:
In the clip at Georgia Tech: “I wish people were there on the floor. To see how realistic our actions are. They never spoke — just stood on opposite ends of the field and walked toward each other, not knowing what the other was going to say, just passing right by.” Kudos to Mr Heyman, JB and Rob Fee for putting it in such a bombastic way that it reminded me of when it was world class [Championship Wrestling] The credits were then taken.
On being world champion during WWE’s recent boom: “From a team standpoint, I was very proud of Backlash. We were really without some of the heavy hitters after Mania, like Rhea and Seth, and for us to break the arena gate record, it’s a great moment for the team.” I also enjoyed going to all the markets – A, B, C – and showing the North Star of the business [the WWE Championship]. There’s something about this being from WWWF territory, [Madison Square] Garden Belt – And for us to be able to bring it around the South and around the world, it’s surreal that a Rhodesian would own it.
