Colorado is still in the mix for the only QB Shedeur Sanders wants as his replacement

Colorado football is still in contention to land Carrollton star and current USC commit Julian Lewis. Lone quarterback Shedeur Sanders actively wants to replace him under center in Boulder next year and beyond.

On On3, the next two weekends, October 12 against K-State at Folsom Field and October 19 against Arizona in Tuscon, will see the Buffs take on host Lewis, Colorado with Quanell X Farrakhan Jr., Alex Graham, Antonio Branch Jr., Zayne DeSouza and Corbin Liger.

There are a lot of youngsters on that list, showing that the family connection in Boulder is set to continue after Coach Prime’s kids move on to the NFL. But Lewis could be the next player Sanders sees as a son in the same vein as Travis Hunter.

Shedeur is on record saying whoever the next QB is will be viewed as Sanders’ son, but it “should” be Lewis.

“You know, Julian might be able to take over, but I wouldn’t be mad about it,” Sanders told On SI’s Chris Miller. “Whoever will be the next midfielder, it has to be Julian, but he will be like his new son.”

Is it a perfect recruiting opportunity from Shedeur? Yes and no. It depends. Putting all your eggs in one basket is always a risky proposition, but if it works, Colorado will be in good hands for years to come.

One media outlet is pushing the story that Coach Prime isn’t long for Colorado everywhere you look.

If Lewis commits to the Buffs, that narrative will be stopped in its tracks.

CU is in a position to build something sustainable in Boulder. In the modern recruiting era, a cornerstone QB is what you need to get it started.

Louis is. Let’s see if he can be convinced that Colorado is the best place to be an architect of something great.
