Salem, Mass. (WHDH) – Salem firefighters worked through the night to extinguish a large fire near Line Lane as a series of wildfires burned across Massachusetts amid dry conditions.
The fire broke out near the Walmart on Highland Avenue and sent a large plume of smoke over the neighborhood.
Crews were seen using ladder trucks to connect water lines into the forest, where brush and trees were engulfed in flames.
The area was still smoky and burning Sunday morning, and fire officials said crews would remain at the scene extinguishing hot spots throughout the day.
No injuries were reported.
Another fire broke out in Weston on Sunday, as fire crews were working to contain the flames.
Other fires were reported in Millbury and Beverly.
