FC Cincinnati’s Robinson has been called up to the USMNT for the Nations League quarter-final against Jamaica

He was named to the US list. Today, the Orange and Blue Defender star discusses the dream coming true and what it means to him, what it means to his family, and sports reporter Olivia Rae joins us now with more. Hi Olivia. This is also what he means to the club. There are a lot of eyes on Cincinnati’s shortstop. So this could be a problem for them. Myles Robinson returns to Cincinnati. In short, after his stint with the US Men’s National Team at the Copa America ended today, he expressed his gratitude to the FCC for allowing him to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, despite the fact that they were shortchanged here in defense at home. It’s been 16 years since the U.S. men’s soccer team took the Olympic stage. Coincidentally, the 2008 Beijing Games marked the first Olympic memories for FC Cincinnati’s Miles Robinson. I remember at my cousin’s house like this, one of those summer days, when Michael Phelps went crazy. You know, I remember all my cousins, you know, my sister and my family were all going crazy because he narrowly won one of his medals, like eight gold medals or something crazy like that. But that kind of, you know, magic, that kind of excitement is something that I will know, that will stay with me forever. Fast forward to some Olympics. Robinson found it surreal when he told his family that he would be one of the athletes wearing the stars and stripes. This summer. I didn’t want to think too much about it because I was afraid I’d feel sad or something. So I told my family when I had a little intuition, and then they were obviously excited, but very excited for me. So, I wanted to stop talking about it. Okay, but once I was officially on the list, I called my whole family. And they were, you know, so excited, crying, and all these tears were guaranteed to be a once in a lifetime opportunity. At 27 years old, Robinson is the second-oldest player on the under-23 list, being one of three over-age players selected to represent him. The country has an expanded role for Robinson. I don’t think I’m that old, but we’ll see. But he certainly expects a leadership role, and I, you know, will definitely provide that and, uh, just try to provide, you know, some confidence. Uh, you know, on that back line. Now, the U.S. men’s soccer team has never won an Olympic gold medal. This is exactly what Robinson seeks. But before Robinson heads to France, he will be available to FC Cincinnati until July 17. These are the next two games. Then Team USA will face France on July 24 in the group stage, and Team USA has a very good chance in that group.
