FIRST ALERT ABC-7: Wednesday is windy with colder temperatures

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – An ABC-7 Alert 1 remains in effect for a cold front that has entered the area. As a result, temperatures become colder and winds are stronger.

Temperatures have seen a significant drop from yesterday as we now expect to see highs in the 70s. We will see temperatures closer to average today with below average temperatures in some areas. This is important as we have been trending well above average for some time now. El Paso is expected to reach 76 degrees and Las Cruces is expected to reach 74 degrees.

Wind speeds this morning reached 40 mph in some parts. Wind speeds are expected to reach their maximum potential between 40-45 mph. This is on the stronger side, and as temperatures drop, we will feel its effects this morning.

Carry a light jacket with you as the weather will be more like fall today.
