A Flood Warning is in effect until 4:30 PM on Maui due to heavy rainfall.
At 1:23 p.m., radar showed additional heavy rain falling on East Maui, where heavy rain had already fallen earlier in the day. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Some of the locations that will experience flooding include: Kipahulu, Nahiku, Kaupu, Keanae, Hana, Kula, Haleakala National Park, Wailua, Hamua, and Kailua.

As a precaution, the public is advised to stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low-lying areas prone to flooding.
A flood watch is also in effect for all Hawaiian Islands until 6 p.m. Sunday.

The heavy rains diminished, and the water levels in the streams gradually decreased.
A flood watch remains in effect until 6pm on Sunday, and heavy rain may fall later today or tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Maui until 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024.

Some of the locations that will experience flash flooding include: Nahiku, Keanai, Kipahulu, Hana, Kaupu, Huilu, Makawao, Haiku-Pawela, Pawela, Paia, Wailua, Haleakala National Park, Kailua, and Hamua.
The public is advised to stay away from streams, rivers, drainage ditches and canals, even if they are currently dry. Heavy rains may cause rock and mudslides in steep areas.
