Former Lions player Josh Reynolds was shot twice, treated for 'minor injuries'

Former Detroit Lions receiver Josh Reynolds was shot twice during an incident outside a Denver strip club, according to a story from 9NEWS in Denver.

According to the story and court documents, Reynolds, who is currently on injured reserve for the Denver Broncos, suffered two injuries, one to his left arm and one to the back of his head. While the story did not contain an update on his condition, the Broncos released a statement Thursday stating that Reynolds was treated for minor injuries.

“Josh Reynolds was the victim of Friday’s shooting in Denver and was treated for minor injuries. “Out of respect for due process, we will defer further comment on this matter to the authorities.”

Reynolds was a prominent member of the Lions’ offense from 2021 to 2023. In 38 total games with Detroit, Reynolds caught 97 passes for 1,393 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Lions expressed their interest in re-signing him this offseason, but were unable to reach an agreement.

Instead, the veteran receiver signed a two-year contract with the Broncos. So far this year, he made five appearances for Denver before being placed on injured reserve two weeks ago with a finger injury that required surgery.

If there are any further updates to the situation — particularly regarding Reynolds’ health — we will update this post with news as it comes in.
