Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks will miss the team’s Week 5 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers after developing an infection in his right knee following a procedure last week.
According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, Cox has been dealing with a knee issue since training camp. The action came after the Cowboys’ 20-15 Week 4 win over the New York Giants. He remained in New York for the procedure, but developed symptoms after returning to Dallas.
According to Gene Slater of NFL.com, the team doctor examined the knee to clean up the infection and soften the meniscus. The chefs are expected to be away for 1-3 weeks.
“Brandyn should feel great within 1-3 weeks,” according to Slater.
Cooks has nine catches for 91 yards and a touchdown in his first four games. However, four of those receptions and his touchdowns came in the season-opening win against the Cleveland Browns. Cooks has struggled to find a consistent rhythm in the Cowboys’ offense since coming to the team before the 2023 season.
Cooks had 657 yards and eight touchdowns on 54 catches last season. Cooks is in the final year of a two-year, $39.7 million deal.
