Former South Carolina wide receiver Xavier Legette is finally on board in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers.
The former Gamecock did not hold back from celebrating it.
On first-and-goal in Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Legette connected with Panthers quarterback Andy Dalton for an 8-yard reception while running into the end zone for his first NFL touchdown. Leggett immediately broke out celebrating by riding horses.

The 6-foot-2 wide receiver is currently on pace for his best game in the NFL, finishing with five receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown in the first half versus the Bengals on Sunday. He also had one carry for eight yards in the first 30 minutes.
He was taken in the first round of April’s NFL Draft after the Panthers traded to No. 32 overall to the Buffalo Bills. With the 32nd overall pick, Legette becomes South Carolina’s highest-drafted player since Jaycee Horn was taken eighth overall in 2021 to the Panthers as well.
Legette had a breakout senior season at South Carolina in 2023, finishing with 71 receptions for 1,255 yards and seven touchdowns. He finished his career at Columbia with 1,678 receiving yards and 12 touchdown catches.
