Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine reunites the star power of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman this summer, in an attempt to save us from chronic superhero fatigue. It quickly became the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time β and now it’s headed to the small screen.
If you missed Marvel’s latest most outrageous superhero shenanigans in the theater, here’s your chance to watch the movie from the comfort of your couch. Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch Deadpool & Wolverine at home.
What is the movie Deadpool & Wolverine?
Directed by Shawn Levy (Free Guy, Night at the Museum), Deadpool & Wolverine uses a bit of retelling to place its narrative after the events of Deadpool, Deadpool 2, and Logan. The film revolves around Wade Wilson, also known as Deadpool (Reynolds), whose existence is threatened when the Time-Variety Authority interferes in his life. To save his world, he hijacks TVA to seek help from the undead Wolverine (Jackman). But, as Christy Butchko, Mashable’s film editor, wrote in her review, “Things go from teamwork to trouble when Deadpool and a kidnapped Wolverine are placed in the TVA wasteland.”

Is Deadpool & Wolverine worth watching?
Second only to Disney-Pixar’s Inside Out 2, Deadpool & Wolverine’s domestic and international box office numbers make it the biggest theatrical release of the year. But, as you probably know, numbers don’t always tell the whole story. In this case, audiences not only came to the film, but walked out of theaters loving it. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film currently has an audience rating of 94 percent. Critics, on the other hand, seem a bit less enthusiastic. Part 2 received a critical rating of only 78 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
Our reviewer criticized Disney’s imitation of Marvel’s more outrageous superheroes, writing: “It seems that without a major studio franchise to fight or parody, Deadpool becomes another cog in the Marvel machine.” However, she also adds that “Levi and his team provide so much entertainment in this messy film that it’s easy to overlook its rough parts while watching it.”
Will superhero movies be saved? Maybe not. But as Butchko noted, βIt’s just real fun.β

When does Deadpool & Wolverine air?
Deadpool & Wolverine is set to premiere on November 12 on Disney+. It’s a bit surprising that an R-rated movie would join the library on a family-friendly streaming device instead of Hulu (where most of the R-rated and PG-13 movies produced by Disney affiliates appear), but since Disney+ is the home of all the other movies and shows in the MCU , it makes sense that Deadpool & Wolverine would join them.
