Fallout’s Emma Purnell makes a list, checks it twice, and kills everyone on it in this delightfully deadly new miniseries.
How to watch Sweetpea in Australia
Sweetpea is streaming in Australia exclusively on Binge, starting October 10.
What is Sweetpea about?
Not to be confused with Popeye’s adorable adopted son, this novel is based (more or less) on the 2017 novel of the same name by CJ Skuse (the first in the series, so expect more if the adaptation is a hit). Purnell is Rhiannon Lewis, the kind of young woman you never look at twice—a fact that seems to get a little stuck in her creeps, to the point where she begins attacking anyone who wrongs her.
This seems subtle to us, but our anti-heroine does not demonize murderers and other human monsters. She’s picky about people who annoy her in everyday life: the coworker who takes credit for her work, the childhood bully who lived the perfect life, the guy who cuts her off in traffic. Everyone must pay the ultimate price. It appears to be Jinyeol’s older girl power, although additional details are elusive. And we can’t even look at the original book, because it turns out that the adaptation is a prequel. But the book has been described as Bridget Jones meets American Psycho, so if that sounds like your cup of tea, add it to your watchlist.
