Vitale, who posed as a 15-year-old boy, claimed he lured Cox to a house under false pretenses, according to Philippine newspaper Brigada News. The encounter, filmed by Vitale’s team, allegedly shows Cox making inappropriate remarks and gestures. When confronted, a shocked Cox attempted to leave the scene.
A video of the incident was posted on social media platform X by an account called Shadow of Ezra, with the caption:
“Hollywood screenwriter CJ Cox, known for films such as Sweet Home Alabama and ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, has been exposed by streamer Vitaly in a shock operation. Cox was caught entering the home of a boy believed to be 15 years old , to be confronted only after engaging in inappropriate behavior.”
The video quickly went viral, sparking strong reactions from social media users and sparking calls for legal action.

Cox and his representatives have not issued any public statements on this matter. Law enforcement officials have not commented on whether the investigation is ongoing.
Cox, born in 1962, is best known for writing romantic comedies and films that explore themes of identity and acceptance. His most successful film, Sweet Home Alabama, was a box office hit in 2002.
