So, this is kind of a formality, but the AP is officially calling this now Democrat Josh Harter has officially won re-election defeating Republican Stockton Mayor Kevin Lincoln. We should mention that it was Kevin Lincoln who seeded this race yesterday and Josh Harter took the victory earlier this week. It’s really kind of a formality for the people who are following this and certainly for the voters who are most interested in this race. It should be mentioned that Harter was elected for the first time again

The Associated Press projects that Rep. Josh Harder will be the winner of the race for California’s 9th Congressional District. Harder, a Democrat, has represented District 9 since he was first elected in 2018. The district covers much of the Central Valley, including Tracy. Manteca, Stockton and Lodi. While the AP called the race in Harder’s favor on Friday, his challenger, Stockton Mayor Kevin Lincoln, conceded on Wednesday. “Although the results were not what we had hoped, I remain extremely proud of the journey we have shared and the incredible progress we have made together. I want to thank every volunteer, supporter and voter who believed in our vision for a stronger Valley,” Harder said in a statement. 123,553 votes to 114,580 votes for Lincoln as of Friday evening.
