Megan Thee Stallion “never plays” when it comes to her parents or fans.
The 29-year-old Mamushi artist made sure to give her flowers to the Hotties and her parents, Holly Thomas and Joseph Pitt Jr., during her speech at the premiere of her documentary Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words on Wednesday, October. 30.

She went on to pay a “huge tribute” to her late parents, noting that although her “mother” told her “not to tell her my private business,” she did so anyway, because this was the “perfect opportunity.”
“I wouldn’t be the woman I am today if it weren’t for Holly Thomas,” she said, in honor of her late mother, who died in 2019 from cancer. “So mom, I love you.”
In the speech, the musician also discussed her work with director and producer Nneka Onwurah in creating the documentary, something she said she was reluctant to do at first. However, she said she eventually confessed and they “did it”, becoming “greatest friends”.

“Having someone follow you all day, every day, recording your most intimate moments, even when you didn’t want to, was a crazy experience,” she said, adding that Honora often filmed alone. The phone when the musician says “cut the cameras.”
She thanked Onuorah for keeping the documentary consistent with her story and said it helped showcase who she is as a person and an artist.
