MNF: Tennessee Titans @ Miami Dolphins Live theme and game information

The vast majority of Miami Dolphins fans are expected to enter this week’s game with a 3-and-0 record. The scenario did not play out as any of us had hoped. After the Week 1 game was much closer than any of us were comfortable with, Miami was able to beat the Jacksonville Jaguars now 0 and 4 on a field goal as time expired, 20 to 17. They followed that up with a Thursday night showdown against the division rival Buffalo Bills in a game that cost… The team lost 31 to 10 and also saw quarterback Tua Tagovailoa go down the next few weeks with another concussion. Then Miami faced the Seattle Seahawks last week. The Week 3 game was again a big loss, 24 to 3. The game also saw Miami lose another quarterback to injury when backup Skyler Thompson left the game with a chest injury.

After seeing the offense that was number one in the entire NFL last season fall to the bottom of the league, now ranked 32nd, and losing the team’s starting quarterback, Miami went out and signed quarterback Tyler Huntley from the Baltimore Ravens’ practice squad. . Tyler has now been tagged to start this evening against the Giants. Huntley doesn’t have a reputation as a good passer at this point in his career. However, he is known as a good run/scrambling quarterback, which gives Miami a dynamic that it doesn’t have with any of the other quarterbacks on the roster. With Tagovailoa out for at least next week’s game, the Dolphins are hoping Huntley will add the spark that’s been missing back to Phin’s offense.

The Giants enter this game in worse shape than the Dolphins have so far, having lost all three of their games to start the season. Many of their issues center around turnovers committed by second-year quarterback Will Levis. Through three games, Levis has five interceptions against four touchdowns, in addition to three pass breakups. His league-high eight turnovers were also accompanied by 15 sacks given up over the same three games. The Titan offensive line’s inability to protect the Levis up to this point should provide a great opportunity for the Dolphins’ defensive line, which has struggled at times this season, to make some plays this evening.

-Optional: Miami “should” cover the line this evening as the home team. While Miami has struggled to this point in the season and will be playing with a fourth quarterback in four games, I expect Tyler Huntley to give a run-heavy version of the offense a spark with his ability to get out of the pocket and run when necessary. While it’s unlikely the Dolphins will “get the score” this evening, they should be able to move the ball enough and do enough to win by a field goal or more. I also expect the Dolphins defense to be opportunistic against a Titans offense that has had major issues this season with both turnovers and the ability to protect the quarterback otherwise.
