The Boston Red Sox celebrate the 20th anniversary of their legendary 2004 World Series.
The postseason included a historic comeback to beat the New York Yankees in the American League Championship Series before beating the St. Louis Cardinals to win Boston’s first World Series since 1918.
The Red Sox honored the 2004 team during the 2024 season opener at home at Fenway Park. NESN.com is also featuring stories on the season’s turning points and will feature two additional oral histories commemorating the aforementioned playoff moments.

Netflix, in addition to following the team for the 2024 season, has put together a three-part documentary series focusing on the ballclub’s heroic 2004 run, which will be released in October to celebrate the championship.
