Obscure Disney 2003 set in the world of 'Winnie the Pooh' has become a favorite in the horror world

Piglet, the little pink sidekick of Disney character Winnie the Pooh, is more creepy than wholesome in the 2003 toy that sparked a frenzy on social media this week, after some players rediscovered it.

Piglet’s Big Game, released as a tie-in to the Disney film “Piglet’s BIG Adventure,” follows the beloved character as he enters the dreams of his friends Winnie the Pooh. In the past week, the game appears to have seen a resurgence in popularity thanks to several posts on X that have racked up millions of views.

A user shared the audio from the game’s soundtrack, titled “Foreboding 1,” in the caption of a YouTube video. Another person on

In the game’s story, Piglet observes his friends (Pooh, Tigger, Eeore, Rabbit, and Roo) busy with their various interests. For example, Pooh is shown trying to get honey while a depressed Eeyore mopes in his tent. At some point in the game, Piglet realizes that all of his friends have fallen asleep and must then enter their dreams to complete quests and help them wake up.

Search interest in the game has increased since it began being published on X on November 7, according to Google Trends. It also saw a huge spike in interest on eBay, with players fascinated by how a cute cartoon could somehow become the subject of such a creepy and horror game. Nearly 60 copies of the game have been sold on the online resale site since posts on X began gaining traction. In the weeks leading up to this new interest, an average of zero to two games were sold per month.

The online game’s recent popularity is the latest example of gamer nostalgia, as consumers seek to recreate the rush of playing their favorite old games on early-era consoles. In recent years, video game publishers have taken advantage of the growing interest among gamers to capitalize on the past by releasing remastered titles, including Spyro the Dragon, the Crash Bandicoot series, and the Tomb Raider titles.

Piglet’s Big Game has been released on GameCube, PlayStation 2, GameBoy Advanced, Mac, and PC, but each iteration is different in gameplay. Before the X hype, copies of the game sold for $20 to $30, with some going for just under $6. Now, copies sell for $70 or more.

Many players who watched the viral videos made comparisons to popular horror games they play regularly.

“As someone who has already played the Big Pigs game, the best way you can describe it is as the first resident villain of the Kid and/or Silent Hill and no, I’m not exaggerating,” one person wrote on X, referring to two of the biggest mature horror game franchises.

Some clips shared from the game confirm why they believe it belongs to the horror genre. One user
