"Scream 7" is set for a winter 2026 release date

Neve Campbell and director Kevin Williamson have made it official: Scream 7 will open on February 27, 2026. Currently, this is the only wide release on that date.

Earlier that month, on February 13, Disney suspended the weekend screening of an untitled Marvel Studios film.

Scream 7 is a worldwide feature date for Spyglass Media and Paramount. It’s also the third Scream feature for Spyglass, which owns the Dimension library. As previously reported, Scream and Scream VI star Melissa Barrera will not be returning after being fired from the film over her pro-Palestinian comments. Box office star Jenna Ortega, who helped lift Scream 6 to the biggest opening ever with $44.4 million in the US, was unable to commit to the seventh installment due to her production schedule on Wednesday.

Williamson is the original creator of Scream. Jay Busiek (2022 Scream and Scream VI) writes. James Vanderbilt, William Chirac and Paul Neinstein of Project X Entertainment (Scream and Scream VI) are producing the film. Radio Silence will serve as executive producer.

The Scream franchise was originally launched in 1996 with Wes Craven directing the first installment, and has grossed over $908 million at the global box office.
