South Dakota Governor Noem selected as Secretary of Homeland Security

CNN reported on Tuesday, citing two sources, that US President-elect Donald Trump has chosen South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem to serve as Secretary of Homeland Security.

Noem, who was once seen as a potential running mate for Republican Trump, is currently serving her second four-year term as governor of South Dakota after a landslide reelection victory in 2022.
