Wildcats football adjusts Alabama A&M roster for Milton

The Bethune-Cookman University Wildcats come out of their bye week ready to focus on the rest of their season.

Bethune-Cookman (0-5, 0-1) is scheduled to play in Huntsville, Alabama against fellow SWAC team, the Alabama A&M University Bulldogs on Saturday. Kick-off is at 3 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on HBCU Go.

The Wildcats are looking for their first win of the season. The school campus was evacuated Monday due to Hurricane Milton. The soccer team as well as the volleyball and cross country teams left early for their competitions.

The Wildcats won last year’s meeting after the Bulldogs won the previous two meetings since B-CU joined the SWAC in 2021.

AAMU was picked to finish fourth in the SWAC East preseason polls while B-CU was picked to finish fifth.

The Wildcats are averaging 18.8 points per game and are converting just 18.46 percent of their third downs.

B-CU will also look to continue the running game; They average 82 yards on the ground per game.

The Wildcats’ defense is giving up 40 points per game, but those numbers are skewed by matchups with South Florida and Michigan. The defense showed flashes but spent a lot of time on the field.

The Bulldogs have shown the ability to run and pass. They average 164 yards per game on the ground and 269 through the air.
