Manchester United have reportedly given Brazilian winger Anthony the green light to leave on loan in the upcoming winter transfer window.
Anthony has been a huge disappointment for Manchester United since joining from Ajax just over two years ago, despite previously impressing under Erik Ten Hag in the Eredivisie.
It now appears that Goal Brasil fully expects Anthony to be allowed to move this winter should he receive any offers, and this is certainly the best move for all parties involved.
It appears that United no longer need Anthony, as they will simply feel they have better options in that area of the pitch now.
And while the 24-year-old is keen to fight for his place at Old Trafford, it may also be better for him to simply accept that his time at the club was a failure and move on to take on a new challenge.
Anthony transfer: Where next for Manchester United winger?
It is not yet clear who would be willing to gamble on Anthony, and one imagines that Manchester United may have difficulty finding clubs interested in such an under-performing player.

Anthony once looked like a real prospect, so there is every chance of a career change, although he now appears to have failed to internalize the message sent to him by Ten Hag earlier in the season.
“He’s impatient. He wants to play,” Ten Hag was quoted as saying by BBC Sport last September.
But in the world of football there are rules. You have to choose the team that has the greatest chance of winning the match, the team that has the best dynamics and the best chemistry. Players have to fight for their positions.

“The other players are doing very well – they are contributing. He has to beat them. He has to earn his right to coach.
“When players do the right thing in training, when the behavior is good, when they show performance in training, they will earn the right to play.”
Clearly, Ten Hag must not feel like Anthony got his chance at United, and that chance has now certainly been lost.
