The Minnesota Vikings WR could break the record against the Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans have been on the wrong side of history multiple times during the season, and they may find themselves in familiar territory again when they face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 11.

The 2-7 Titans haven’t performed well this season, which makes the 7-2 Vikings the favorite in the matchup. One of the main reasons behind the Vikings’ success over the years is the impact Justin Jefferson has had on the field.

Titans team reporter Jim White wrote that the Vikings will look to prevent Jefferson from achieving a massive accomplishment.

“The Vikings have one of the most monstrous receivers in the NFL in Justin Jefferson, who already has 53 catches for 831 yards and five touchdowns on the season. Jefferson, who has 6,730 receiving yards, could pass Torry Holt (6,784) for the most receptions yards by a player in his first five seasons in NFL history,” White writes.

Week 11 marks Jefferson’s 70th career game, meaning he’s averaging just under 100 yards per game for his career, and he’s doing so with only his fifth half of the season started.

Jefferson will almost certainly break the record at some point in the final eight games of the season. The Giants just want to make sure that doesn’t happen on their watch.

With Larios Snead (quad) and Chidobe Awuzie (groin) still out with injuries, it will be up to players like Roger McCreary and Jarvis Brownlee Jr. to try and stop Jefferson – and that’s no easy task.

If the Giants can find a way to keep Jefferson to fewer than 54 yards, they may have a chance to not only keep the record from being broken, but perhaps win a football game as well.
