The number of modern-day nominees is down to 50 people for the 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class

In the next step of the process, each member of the full Hall of Fame selection committee will review the above list and cast a vote for the 25 nominees they each believe should advance to the semifinal stage. The names of the 25 semi-finalists (plus links if any for 25th place) will be announced in approximately four weeks.

Down votes also occur in the Seniors, Trainers and Contributor categories. Ultimately, 20 finalists will be presented at next year’s annual selection committee meeting before Super Bowl LIX: 15 modern-era players, three seniors, one coach and one contributor.

Although there is no set number for any category of honorees, the bylaws of the Hall of Fame selection process state that between four and eight new members will be selected.

This year’s abatement vote will be completed via online platforms under the supervision of Ernst & Young LLP. EY’s agreed-upon procedures included verifying the completeness of ballots and tabulating ballots in accordance with regulations established by the Hall of Fame Board of Directors.

EY has overseen the Hall selection process since the 2020 Centenary Class.

The 2025 Pro Football Hall of Fame class will be announced at the NFL Honors in New Orleans, Louisiana, in February, and will be honored in August in Canton.
