The Panthers will debut a brand new uniform against the Falcons in Week 6

I don’t need to tell you this, but it hasn’t been the most fun year being a Panthers fan. Whether it was the offseason trade of Brian Burns, sitting out Bryce Young at the start of the season, or any number of David Tepper moments…from the last 12 months, sledding has been tough in Charlotte. You know things are bad when your score of 1-4 barely represents the current top 5 interests. And there’s no reason to go into how Caleb Williams turned out in Chicago, because sometimes self-care is the most important thing you can do for yourself.

But finally — finally — Panthers fans have something to look forward to this weekend. (I want everyone reading this to take a moment now and reset your expectations.) This weekend, the team will debut their new uniforms! Although these are not really “new” uniforms – they are in fact a new uniform set. It’s not much, but beggars can’t be choosers; Take what you can get.

First, I’m sorry you had to watch New York Giants quarterback Brian Burns talk about “new beginnings” while wearing a Panthers uniform. In hindsight, it probably wasn’t the smartest decision from the Panthers content team. Although I think he wasn’t wrong when he said a lot of things are changing around the building?

Otherwise, these are pretty sharp. The black and blue helmet is especially fun, which is surprising because it’s harder than you think when wearing a matte black helmet. It does a great job of making the blue jerseys stand out even more, and the overall black, blue and black combo is a winning combination. The blue jerseys aren’t running as well as they should, so it’s an encouraging sign that the team is considering incorporating them more often — and they’ll also be wearing them again for their Week 10 matchup with the Giants in Germany.

So, yes. New uniform! (Kinda.) Everyone always benefits from timely change. Maybe this will be the biggest turning point in the Panthers’ season! Maybe black helmets will be a thing now! This is what 1-4 teams should look forward to; That and free agency.
