The Princess of Wales joined the royal family to celebrate Remembrance Day on Sunday.
Kate joined Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, on a balcony overlooking the War Memorial in the heart of Westminster, where the annual service is held. There, they watched as King Charles III led the nation in honoring fallen soldiers, and the King honored those killed in battle by laying a wreath at the memorial. The wreath, decorated with poppies and black leaves, pays tribute to his grandfather, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II.

William, dressed as an RAF Squadron Leader, also laid a wreath at the Cenopath. Queen Camilla was absent due to a chest infection, although she “will celebrate this occasion in private at home,” the palace announced in a statement.

For the occasion, Kate wore a black coat with structured shoulders and a velvet bow, and added a Royal Air Force pin and three traditional red poppies. She accessorized the look with a black beanie hat featuring black flowers, feather accents, and a mesh veil. Middleton also paid a beautiful tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth, wearing Bahrain pearl earrings, which were originally gifted to the Queen on her wedding day. Yesterday, Kate stopped by the Royal Albert Hall to attend the Royal British Legion Remembrance Festival, a musical tribute to the British and Commonwealth Armed Forces. Following the traditional all-black dress code, she wore a black blazer dress with a cinched waist, which she accessorized with sheer black stockings and pointed black pumps. She paid tribute to the late Princess Diana by wearing her Collingwood pearl earrings, as well as her ruby engagement ring.

The National Remembrance Service sees Kate resume her public duties, following the completion of chemotherapy. She announced in September that she was officially cured of cancer, and later that month, she made her first public appearance while attending Sunday Mass at Crathie Kirk, a church located on the royal family’s estate of Balmoral in Scotland.
