1. OLE MISS’s success streak won’t end anytime soon

It was Georgia Tech briefly, after a win over Miami, but on Saturday afternoon, Ole Miss became the talk of college football and the recruiting world with a win over No. 3 Georgia.

The Rebels’ dominance on the field has already led to commitments in both the 2025 and 2026 classes as of Monday evening, but there is certainly more on the way as Lane Kiffin suggested in addressing the media. The deeper the hype goes into the week, the more liabilities can come for the Rebels – especially in the face game. Anyone on social media has seen quarterback Deuce Knight on campus (more on him later), but the safest bet might be Caleb Cunningham. The all-state wide receiver and Alabama commit is the highest-rated prospect in the state of Mississippi and some felt he was always going to be one for Kiffin to lose.

With the program hotter than ever with the possibility of a College Football Playoff run, let’s take that shot.

2. The middle domino is far from stable

Deuce Knight isn’t the only passer potentially looking at late action before December. There’s a lot of buzz about Auburn’s commitment to staying in state, especially after celebrating with Rebel fans as they stormed the field on Saturday.

Florida State commit Trammell Jones saw a slew of coaches who recruited him let go by Mike Norvell, and coupled with Florida doubling down on Billy Napier with the Gators prioritizing him – it wouldn’t be surprising to see each side ramp up their communications at the bare minimum. Meanwhile, the Seminoles have been working with other QB recruits on late-round picks, including former Michigan commit Carter Smith, so momentum in multiple directions may be underway.

Of course the biggest potential twists are with the five stars in Bryce Underwood and Julian Lewis, and the word is that at least one will shake things up with a change of heart.

Focusing on the dominoes, let’s expect the most likely dominoes to move to the least likely: Jones, Lewis, Knight, Underwood.

3. The worst is still to come for Florida State recruiting

While Florida State may look like it might trade one top-100 quarterback for another (Jones for Smith), there should be more concern about the state of Norvell’s 2025 class.

The departure of Alex Atkins, in particular, hurts what was undoubtedly the strongest group on the commitment list — the offensive line. Mario Nash, Peyton Joseph and others took to social media to express their displeasure, but it was the highest-rated commit on five-star Solomon Thomas on Monday with the most critical words for the program. Thomas followed up with a message ending with #GoNoles but has yet to comment on the record since moves were made as LSU, Miami, Florida, South Carolina and others continue to reach out to the top-ranked guard in the class.

Going off the NFL commitments list, especially on the offensive line, already seems inevitable.
