So you might be wondering, what happens after you find the lost city of El Dorado, it explodes, two of your parents die, and you’re stranded in South America with a bag full of gold? Well, let John B. (Chase Stokes) catch you up for the first nine minutes of Outer Banks Season 4, which you can now watch above!

Season 4 begins with the Pogues returning to OBX and putting their flexible heads together to figure out the best way to use their newfound gold. Or as Rudy Pankow (who plays JJ) previously told Todom: “What do you want now? When you finally get something, what do you want?”

It’s not very surprising that the Pogues decided to recreate their happiest times: in Poguelandia, of course! So the crew decides to build Poguelandia 2.0 themselves, a new safe haven where they can live together and run a successful bait and tackle shop and charter tours. P4L, right?!

The season 3 finale ended with an 18-month time jump after the Pogues found the treasure, and the cast was as eager to fill in the blanks as fans were. “That’s what I’m most excited about, just finding out what happens in between,” Jonathan Davis (who plays Bob) told Tudum last season.

So far, all the show has told us after the jump is that Kiara (Madison Bailey) was out saving sea turtles, Bob (Davis) was planning to go away to school, JJ (Banko) bought a charter boat, and Sarah (Madelyn Cline) was She works at a surf shop with John B. Not to mention, a new character, Wes Genrette (David Jensen), makes them an offer that Pogue will find hard to refuse: join Blackbeard’s treasure hunt.

So why the jump in the first place? “We felt like we needed to transition them out of school,” Outer Banks co-creator Josh Pate previously told Tudum in a conversation explaining the Season 3 finale. He and co-creators Jonas Pate and Shannon Burke thought about the first three seasons. As a trilogy, so Season 4 will feel like they’re clearing the decks. “We will have new villains, a new treasure hunt, and a new life situation,” he said.

Watch the first nine minutes above and enjoy the rest of Season 4, which will premiere with Part 1 on October 10 and Part 2 on November 7. We’ll bring him home, Pogues!
