Now, the 31-year-old One Direction singer’s body lies in state at the Chapel of Rest, where his family can say their final farewells in private. The family is putting the final touches on funeral arrangements for the ‘son of Wolverhampton’.

It was almost four weeks before Payne’s father, Jeff Payne, was finally able to return his son’s body to the UK.

After his sudden death, dozens gathered to lay flowers at vigils in honor of the child’s father, including in his home city and in Birmingham.

Growing up, Liam attended St Peter’s Collegiate School in Compton Road, Wolverhampton from 2005, and enjoyed performing arts classes at Wolverhampton-based Pink Productions from the age of 12.

Flowers laid at St Peter’s Church, Wolverhampton, in memory of Liam Payne, were taken to the bandstand at West Park.

On the day of Liam Payne’s funeral, family and friends will gather at a church in Wolverhampton.

It has been speculated that it could be either St Peter’s Collegiate Church in the town center or St Paul’s Church in Bendford, which is closest to the Payne family.

Meanwhile, the singer’s fans are expected to line the streets of Wolverhampton as the body passes through the city.

After the funeral ceremony ends, Liam’s body will be transported to the cemetery for burial.

Afterwards, family and friends will come together to celebrate – a time to share stories, celebrate his life and cherish the memories they have made together.
