Will Travis Kelce return for a potential second Grotesquerie season? Find out who survived the end of Season 1

Warning: This post contains spoilers for the Season 1 finale of Grotesquerie.

As Season 1 of Grotesquerie comes to a close, so does Travis Kelce’s first scripted television appearance. But could we see him return if Ryan Murphy’s series is renewed for a second season?

The final episode of the thrilling series on October 30, which saw Niecy Nash Bates infected with a sick and twisted serial killer, gave fans some answers to their long-awaited questions. However, it eventually ended up in a big problem, as the identity of the killer, known as Grotesquerie, was never revealed.

There were also quite a few deaths among the main cast, with Nash Bates’ Lewis Tryon and Kelsey’s Ed Lachlan both walking out unscathed. The characters of Courtney B. Vance, Raven Goodwin, Michaela Diamond, and Lesley Manville also survived the finale.

Charlie (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), who was a priest in Lois’ dreamscape, but her doctor in real life, does not survive. He was among the large number of victims in the finale, and Megan (Diamond) found him crucified and later called Louis to help her. One of Marshall’s students (Vance) who accused him of sexual assault was also among Charlie’s victims.

Since Kelce’s character – among others – survived the season finale, it’s almost certain that if Grotesquerie is renewed for a second season, the 35-year-old Kansas City Chiefs running back will reprise his role.

In the final episode, Kelsey’s character Ed, ditched the mullet that shocked fans in Episode 7 — when it was revealed that Lois had been in a coma the whole time, and the entire plot of the show was happening inside her head — and enlisted. Marshall to join a men’s rights group with him.

In a potential second season, Ed’s relationships will need some clarification, after it is revealed that his wife, Merritt (Goodwin), cheated on him with Lois, Merritt’s mother.

In an interview with Deadline after the first season ended, Nash-Bates, 54, said there was “definitely” more story to tell as she pondered what questions season two would need to answer.

“There are still some questions I’m waiting to answer, and it’s all good, we’ll have a second season to unpack,” she told the outlet. “If not, that means I sit at dinner with Ryan for hours and he tells me where he has this story going.”

Clearly the “big unanswered question” remaining is who Grotesquerie is. “Right now, during treatment, the doctor says that the Grotesquerie is a combination of all the evil that has happened in the world in [Lois’] Mind, but then these crimes start happening, literally. So wait a minute. So what does that mean?
