PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers revealed the injury report for Friday’s game at Crypto.com Arena.
Possible – Grayson Allen (Achilles), Bradley Beal (Pain)
Out – Josh Okogie (hamstring)
Both Allen and Beal played in Phoenix’s season-opening win over the Los Angeles Clippers. Beal scored 24 points (one more than Kevin Durant for the team lead), while Allen scored eight points off the bench.
Okogie was sidelined on Wednesday due to a hamstring injury.
Possible – Jackson Hayes (left foot)
OUT – Jalen Hood-Schifino (illness), Christian Coloco (recovering from competitive action), Jared Vanderbilt (recovering from foot surgery) and Christian Wood (recovering from right knee surgery).
Hayes played 15 minutes in the Lakers’ 110-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday, scoring ten points to go along with four rebounds and one block.
Wood, per Lakers on SI, is waiting to return to the court after missing all of last year due to blood clots while Vanderbilt recovers from surgery performed before this season.
Hood Schifino did not play for Los Angeles in the opener.
The NBA clearly wanted more Kevin Durant vs. LeBron James to open the season, as the two teams battle it out twice in the first four games.
“This is a guy I’ve been fighting my whole career, it should be fun,” Durant said of tonight’s bout.
With both stars healthy at the start of the season, the league ensured they would get it.
The opening tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM local time and will be shown on ESPN.
