The Good Place may be off the air forever, but the cast still has a lot of love for each other.
At the Netflix premiere of Ted Danson’s A Man on the Inside on Sunday, November 10, Kristen Bell and Darcey Carden showed up to support their former Good Place co-stars, sharing a long, warm hug.
Danson, 76, praised Bell, who played deceased pharmaceutical saleswoman Eleanor Shellstrop — a role that earned her a Golden Globe nomination in 2019. She currently stars in the Netflix show Nobody Wants This, which was recently renewed for a second season.
“I adore her and she adore me, but she’s also the most amazing human being on the planet,” Danson tells PEOPLE. “There’s no one who doesn’t love Kristen Bell. Really, really.”

“Did you see her last show?” He continues. “I have to cover my eyes and say, ‘No, no, no. Don’t fall in love with him! It’s great. they [Bell and Carden] both of them.”
The Good Place ran for four seasons from 2016 to 2020, and dealt with themes like the afterlife, earning 14 Emmy nominations in the process, including three for Danson for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
In Inside Man, Danson plays Michael, a retired gentleman who loses his wife and discovers a new hobby as a private investigator’s assistant, where he infiltrates a senior living community to help solve a case. Over the course of eight episodes, the series successfully portrays the issues faced by seniors with humor and dignity.
“One of my joys, and I’ve been able to do this in life many times, is using my age and what I’m going through in life and exploring that,” the actor continues. “What’s it like to be 76 years old and you’re funny and you’re trying to be funny? What’s that like? Oh my God, [the] The greatest joy is being funny in every way possible.

“You can still do anything even at our age, and one of the things you have to teach them is how to die, and how to live to do it,” he adds. Don’t calm down, keep going. The world needs you. To me, that’s one of the great messages of this piece. “It’s something I wish for myself.”
While A Man on the Inside has not yet been renewed for a second season, creator and executive producer Michael Schur is open to the idea of casting former Danson actors like Belle and Carden or even Danson’s wife Mary Steenburgen. The pair have worked together on numerous projects over the years, including the 1996 limited series Gulliver’s Travels and the 2004 TV movie It Must Be Love.
“If we’re lucky enough to do more seasons, I think the world is our oyster,” Schur tells PEOPLE, adding, “I think I would gladly cast whoever we thought was the right person to play regardless of whether Ted had worked with him or not.” .
