Activision confirms Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 pre-load requirements, global launch times, PC system requirements, and 102GB storage requirement

Activision has announced a long list of launch information for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 ahead of its global release date of October 25, 2024.

In a blog post, the publisher confirmed preload and global launch times, minimum and recommended PC and system requirements, and a light storage requirement of 102GB.

Call of Duty has had massive storage space for years, which ballooned out of control when Activision forced the battle royale Warzone to be installed alongside the main Call of Duty games. However, for Black Ops 6, Activision changed its approach so that Warzone became a separate download on PC, resulting in a more manageable 102GB SSD storage requirement.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 preload launch times for PC

Activision has confirmed that those who pre-order Black Ops 6 digitally on PC can pre-download the game ahead of its October 25 launch date, meaning they’ll be able to play the moment it’s published.

Preloading for everyone begins at 9 a.m. PT on October 21. This allows you to download the entire package, including the campaign, multiplayer, and zombies.

It should be noted that the release of the Black Ops 6 PC version depends on where you get the game from. It will launch regionally for Microsoft PC players (Microsoft Store for PC) on October 24 between 4am PT and 11pm PT, which means midnight wherever you are (and the same for PlayStation and Xbox). Black Ops 6 launches on Steam and Battle.net, meanwhile, at 9pm PT on October 24.

Black Ops 6 is also launching directly on Game Pass, Microsoft’s subscription service, across console, PC and the cloud via Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass only. It’s the first Call of Duty game to launch on day one on Game Pass, and comes a year after Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard for $69 billion. By the way, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone also arrived on Game Pass via the cloud on October 25. You’ll need Game Pass Ultimate to play either game over the cloud.
